Jonathan Watts
Jonathan set up British Technical Films in 1984 with his wife Jane having previously worked for London and Oxford Scientific Films as a specialist cameraman. He is a pioneer of innovative filming techniques including bird mounted cameras and the first motion-controlled time lapse system. He has extensive experience in 3D filming and shot a full 3D natural history programme for the BBC "Wee Timorous Beasties" in 1998 and was Technical Supervisor to "Bugs" (IMAX 3D). More recently in 2010 he has been involved with a 3D feature film of the Chevette caves in France being directed by Werner Herzog. He has designed and built high speed camera systems and invented a 3D single camera endoscope system for use in keyhole surgery. Jonathan is an multi award winning cameraman having worked on many TV programmes and feature films during his career.
Chris Watts
Chris has recently joined BTF as a talented cameraman and stereographer. He has also been running the BTF 3D rigs and co-designed and pilots the Skybot, most recently for the Chevette caves film. He too is involved in maintaining the technical innovation and expertise of the business.
